With most of winter behind us, if you are in need of an Easter Hamper, it is time to sign up for one at the Tobermory Food Bank, or please call Linda at 519-596-2333. Also call, if you know of anyone who may need help in having a celebratory meal for Easter. The Hampers will be ready for those who have registered for one, on Thursday April 9th between 11:00 a.m. and 12 noon at The Meeting Place in Tobermory.
Winter is always a time when the Tobermory Food Bank sees an increase in demand. We were so very fortunate to have so many generous donations leading up to Christmas that allowed us to meet the need. But with the winter seasonal demand our shelves are feeling the impact. If you are considering donating, there are always certain things that we are most in need of: Peanut Butter, Chunky Soups, and Packaged Pasta meals such as Sidekicks. Boxed dry cereal, canned tuna, salmon or ham, and canned pasta products. As well, toilet tissue, Kleenex and paper towel. Pet food for dogs and cats is welcomed, but in manageable sized bags for distribution. Donations can be dropped off at Tobermory Post Office, Peacock’s and Tobermory United Church.
The proceeds from Trivia night at the Tobermory Legion have helped in many ways from assisting in the cost of providing hampers as well as keeping our shelves stocked for those most in need in our community. The generosity of groups, organizations, businesses, Churches and individuals in our area, enables us to continue our work. We are so grateful to all.
