Hello August – summer’s last stand but let’s hope it can stretch well into October!
Don’t miss August 14 at 9:00pm – TECHNO NIGHT brought to you by the TubRatz. There is a $10 cover charge for this event.
Saturday nights with DJ Maxx will take place on August 22 (annual SUMMERWEEN – come in your costumes) and September 5th. Come on out and dance like no one is watching from 9:30pm to 1:00am. There is a $10.00 cover charge.
Make your dinner a BBQ at the Legion on August 29 and September 12, after the meat draw, which starts at 4:00pm. You can get a burger and a bag of chips for $15.00.

-Friday, August 28 Euchre starts at 7:00pm.
-Every Wednesday is the Ladies’ Auxiliary Summer Bingo, held at the Tobermory Community Centre. Doors open at 6:30pm.
-Every Thursday starting at 7:00pm is Darts. Everyone is welcome.
-Every Saturday is the Meat Draw. Starting time is 4:30pm.
The Legion is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 3:00pm. Stop in and say hi to Raelene. The drinks are cold and the welcome is warm!
Remembering William Earl McFarlane
From the Legion Ontario Command Military Service Recognition Book – William Earl McFarlane was born in Tobermory, Ontario in 1889. He enlisted in the Army on June 16, 1916 and served with the 160th Bruce Battalion in France during WW1. He suffered a serious leg wound in France.
Following his discharge on May 28, 1919, he worked in lumber camps in Northern Ontario and as a carpenter in Tobermory until he had to have his leg amputated due to his war injuries.
He was a member of the Tobermory Legion Branch 290. William passed away on January 24, 1966. Unfortunately, there is no picture to accompany this bio.
