The annual Stokes Bay Summerfest was a tremendous success, drawing families, friends, and visitors together for a full day of community spirit, friendly competition, and local talent.
Organized by the dedicated Stokes Bay Community Centre Committee, the free event offered something for everyone. Attendees enjoyed a variety of outdoor competitions, including axe throwing, cornhole, and tug-of-war. Children were treated to free hotdogs, while additional lunch options were available for purchase throughout the day.
Inside the community centre, the Vendor Market welcomed visitors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Twelve local vendors showcased an impressive selection of products, including homemade baking, photography, Christmas decorations, and a variety of other unique items.
One of the day’s highlights was a karate demonstration led by Jim, as students impressed the crowd with their skill, discipline, and confidence.
Families also enjoyed the popular nickel dig and children’s crafts, ensuring there were activities for all ages throughout the day.
The evening fish dinner, hosted by the Stokes Bay General Store, sold nearly 100 dinners, with proceeds generously donated back to the community.
Organizers are already looking ahead to next year’s event. Volunteers are essential to making the festival possible, and anyone interested in helping is encouraged to stop by the Stokes Bay General Store to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
