Kids these days! Jocelyn Liverence, mom to Emma and Layton, has a good reason to smile! This is the second year that her kids have set up a lemonade stand and donated the proceeds to a charity of their choice. Last year Emma and Layton donated their profits to the animal shelter and this year they chose the Lion’s Head and District Food Bank.

The Liverance children came into the food bank with $250 because they wanted to make sure other kids and their families had enough food to eat.

I had fun taking them for a private tour around our little food bank that’s currently housed, with gratitude, in the basement of the Country Church on Hwy 6. They had a lot of questions filled with curiosity and compassion.

I asked the kids how they would like to use their money to help the food bank. Knowing that we are offering a summer munchies program, the kids decided to go shopping with mom for kid friendly nutritious snacks and what a shopping spree they had! The Liverance family came back with bags of great snacks kids will love.

Thank you for raising compassionate children in a world with so much uncertainty.
