On June 17, the BPDS (Bruce Peninsula District School) Outers hosted a successful Lasagna Dinner at the school. A huge thank you goes to the Peninsula SWANS, who prepared and donated all of the lasagnas for the evening. Their generosity, experience, and expertise in serving large groups helped make the event a tremendous success.

Thanks to the support of the many community members who attended, whether dining in or taking advantage of takeout, the BPDS Outers were able to raise an impressive $3,000.

Entering into the program’s 58th year, the BPDS Outers program continues to provide incredible outdoor learning experiences for local students. Funds raised from this event will help support the program’s 2026–2027 adventures, including the annual 3-day/2-night Fall Hike from Crane Lake to Little Cove, the 3-day/2-night Winter Camp, where students hope for snowy conditions to build quinzees, and the 8-day/7-night Algonquin Canoe Trip in the spring.

We are grateful for the continued support of our community and look forward to seeing this outstanding program continue to challenge and benefit Peninsula students for many years to come. Through these experiences, students develop resilience, mental toughness, confidence, and grit, while creating lifelong memories with their peers in the outdoors.

Here’s to another 60 years of adventure!
