The Lion’s Head Friendship Club continues to thrive as a hub of friendship, fun, and community involvement, with members recently enjoying two memorable events.

The Club’s Anniversary Dinner, held on May 30, was a tremendous success, drawing 70 attendees for an evening filled with excellent food, laughter, and camaraderie. Members and guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Roberta, Jeff, and the staff of Bear Tracks Inn and Restaurant. A special thank you is extended to the entire Bear Tracks team for the outstanding meal and presentation. The food was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in attendance and helped make the evening a memorable celebration.

The Friendship Club would also like to recognize the many volunteers whose hard work contributed to the success of the event. From those who organized the dinner to the individuals who set up and dismantled the tables, every contribution was greatly appreciated.

The Anniversary Dinner marked the final supper gathering before the summer season. Members can look forward to several summer barbecues, including a popular corn roast. Dates and details for these events will be posted at the Club at a later time.

Club members also enjoyed a special outing on Thursday, June 11, when they travelled to King’s Wharf Theatre in Penetanguishene to see the musical Sister Act. The bus departed Lion’s Head at approximately 9:45 a.m., with the first stop being the scenic Memorial Park in Meaford, where everyone enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch.

Following lunch, the group continued to Penetanguishene for the 2:00 p.m. performance. The musical was thoroughly enjoyed by all. After the show, members gathered for dinner at Swiss Chalet in Collingwood before returning home. Tired but happy, everyone agreed that the trip was exceptionally well planned and executed.

Members are already looking forward to their next adventure.

The Friendship Club would also like to remind members that there will be no Euchre on Wednesday, July 1, in observance of Canada Day. Everyone is encouraged to attend the festivities, activities, and fireworks display at the beach in Lion’s Head.

Happy Canada Day to all!
