The Lion’s Head Friendship Club continues to offer a full calendar of enjoyable and well-attended events for its members.
A recent highlight was the club’s trip to Stratford to see the popular musical Guys and Dolls. All 54 participants departed the club at 9:30 a.m., making a stop at Tim Hortons in Hanover before continuing on to Stratford. With beautiful sunny weather greeting the group, many took the opportunity to enjoy a picnic lunch on the scenic grounds of the Stratford Theatre.
The performance of Guys and Dolls was a tremendous success and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in attendance. Following the show, the group travelled to Pebbles Restaurant in Varney for dinner, which proved to be an added treat. The delicious meal was only part of the experience—members were pleasantly surprised to learn it was “Honour a Senior Day.” Each person had the chance to spin a prize wheel, winning items such as banana loaves, fruit drinks, frozen dinners, jams, and jellies. Everyone left with both a full stomach and a gift in hand.
The group returned to the club at 9:00 p.m., tired but happy after a memorable day.
Back at the club, activities continue to thrive. The Craft Day held on May 6 was well attended and began with a pizza lunch. Participants then created beautiful terrariums using succulents, with everyone taking home their own unique creation. The event was a great success and enjoyed by all.
Looking ahead, the club’s next outing will be a trip to see Sister Act in Penetanguishene this June.
In addition, Classie Casual Boutique will be visiting the Friendship Club on May 13 at 12:00 p.m. Members and guests are invited to come out, browse the selection, and find something new to add to their spring and summer wardrobes.
With such a wide variety of events and activities, the Lion’s Head Friendship Club continues to be a vibrant and welcoming place for the community.
