A Fundraiser for the Lion’s Head Lighthouse will be held on 21 May 2022 at the Lion’s Head Arena from 2 p.m. to Midnight. This concert will be a mix of music, but mainly country music. Admission is by donation. All donations from this event will be used for ongoing repairs and maintenance of the Lighthouse.

This event was planned in response to the famed Lion’s Head Lighthouse being totally demolished by storms in January of 2020 and the need to raise funds for the rebuild. However, due to the onset of the pandemic, the event was postponed for two years.

One of the organizers, Kyle Lougheed, says they are happy that this event can finally take place this month. There is a line up of local and regional bands. Lougheed, himself a musician, says that the musicians have all offered their music and time freely to support this community event.

Starting at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. there will be an open jam session with Brian Taylor. Performances from the music bands will start at 4 p.m. and continue until Midnight; featured acts are Ridge River Ramblers, Flat Broke, Studio 1954, Good Tyme Country and Midnight Blue.

Mayor Milt McIver and Council of the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula are expected to offer remarks.

Mary Hewton-Robbins of The Booth will be open for sale of food items and from 6 p.m. to midnight the Rotary Club will host a cash bar. At 11 p.m, a night luncheon will be offered, sponsored by the Swan Ladies.

Lougheed says there will be dancing and invites everyone to come out to enjoy the music and support this community event.
