This past weekend Bruce Men’s Shed had a booth at the indoor Lion’s Head Farmers’ Market (LHFM) that was held at the Bruce Peninsula District School. It gave me a chance to say hello and introduce shoppers to our group. Many thanks to Charlene for inviting us again this year.
Towards the end of May, we will hold a free spring bicycle tuneup event at the LHFM Saturday morning market on May 30th. Drop off your bike between 9-11am, wander the market and check back for your bike by noon. We will have a team of men on hand who will adjust gears, brakes and derailleurs, replace worn brake pads, straighten wobbly wheels, fix flats and lubricate chains.
We are selling raised planters again this year, but made with cedar legs and bottoms with pine boxes and a liner. They are deeper at 10” to 11”. Let us help you get ready for planting season!
Our next monthly Saturday meeting is May 16 from 9am-11am. Every Monday morning we meet for coffee from 9am-11am at Canadian Legion Branch 202, 6 Hellyer Road on Highway 6, 4 km north of Ferndale. Doors open at 8:45.
There is also a Bruce Men’s Shed coffee gathering every Wednesday at 10 am in Wiarton at 451 Frank street, Matthew Mutch hosting.
If you would like further information on how to get involved with the Men’s Shed movement, please contact us at brucemensshed@gmail.com or call Gerry at (519) 793–3005.
