It’s been an exciting and action-packed fall at Bruce Peninsula District School (BPDS) and St. Edmunds Public School! Our students have been learning, exploring, competing, and connecting in so many wonderful ways. Here are a few highlights:

Outers Fall Hike

Fourteen Outers students took on a true adventure—hiking 38 km up the Peninsula and camping for two nights along the way! They faced sunshine, rain, and chilly nights, but showed incredible teamwork and perseverance.

Elementary Soccer

BPDS was well represented at the Intermediate Soccer Tournament at Sauble Community School. We’re so proud of our teams—the girls placed first in their division, and the boys finished strong in third place! Coaches Mrs. Phillips and Miss Mielhausen are very pleased with this year’s team performance.

Kindergarten Registration

We recently held Kindergarten registration for next year and already have 15 new Junior Kindergarten students ready to join our BPDS family. We had less register for St. Edmunds, but we anticipate more registrations to come. We can’t wait to meet even more little learners as this process continues! We are looking for children born in 2022!

There will be an opportunity in May for our newest young students to meet their classmates and familiarize themselves with the school.

Outdoor Education Centre

All of our Grade 6, 7, and 8 students have now enjoyed a memorable three-day, two-night experience at the Outdoor Education Centre, filled with hands-on learning, teamwork, and outdoor fun.

Cross Country Running

Many of our elementary students represented BPDS and St. Edmunds at both the Outdoor Education Centre and Saugeen Bluffs meets over the past two weeks. We’re so proud of their determination and school spirit!

Owen Sound Attack Visit

Last week, seventy-eight of our elementary students cheered on the Owen Sound Attack at a school-day game—and the excitement didn’t stop there! Three Attack players later visited BPDS to talk about perseverance and goal-setting before challenging a few lucky students to a floor hockey game. What an unforgettable experience!

Youth Climate Action Conference

Five students, along with Ms. Rosenburg, attended the Youth Climate Action Conference, where they explored how young people can make a positive difference. The day focused on creating safe, inclusive spaces and taking meaningful action for our planet.

It’s been a wonderful start to the year at BPDS and St. Edmunds Public School —thank you to our amazing students, staff, and families for keeping the energy high and the smiles bright!
