Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula

Northern Bruce Peninsula is excited to host its first Seniors’ Wellness & Volunteer Fair, a two-day event taking place October 4th and 5th. Since becoming a Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) operator in April 2025, the Municipality has been expanding opportunities for seniors, caregivers, and the wider community. This fair marks an important milestone in supporting connection, learning, and wellness.

Each day will feature a lively trade show of local exhibitors, free nutritious lunches, interactive workshops, and complimentary bags filled with swag and resources from participating organizations. Community groups and organizations including Bruce Men’s Shed, Tobermory Legion, Escarpment Heights Apartments, the St. Edmunds Museum Volunteer Team, Tobermory Health Services Auxiliary, Grey Bruce Health Services, and many others will share information, offer support, and highlight opportunities to get involved.

The fair begins on Saturday, October 4 at the Tobermory Community Centre (7420 Highway 6). Attendees can explore a morning trade show, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and take part in afternoon workshops. Highlights include a session on navigating ageism and the health care system with Angela Yenssen of the Grey Bruce Community Legal Clinic, a chair yoga break with Shawn Radcliffe, and a “Stepping Stones” workshop on living well with Nancy Forgrave from Bruce Peninsula Hospice.

On Sunday, October 5 at the Lion’s Head Rotary Hall (59 Main Street), the day begins with refreshments and a presentation on wills, powers of attorney, and aging in place by guest speaker Angela Yenssen. The morning continues with a rug hooking demonstration by Hooked on the Bruce and a second “Stepping Stones” workshop with Nancy Forgrave. A complimentary bagged lunch will be provided, and the afternoon will feature a bustling trade show with a wide range of local organizations and services.

The Seniors’ Wellness & Volunteer Fair is made possible with funding support from the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO) and the Government of Ontario.

All are welcome to join on October 4th and 5th to discover local resources, enjoy free activities, and celebrate the vibrant community of Northern Bruce Peninsula. We hope to see you there!
