In my previous article I wrote about the exterior renovation by Hofstrand Contracting. Work continued inside the legion in July, refurbishing the bar area. This time, a couple of Bruce Men’s Shed members have spent many hours fixing and preparing the walls prior to installing cabinets that were donated to their group. Hofstrand removed a window and sided over the old location, and inside Michael and Mark patched it over with new drywall and then plywood. After the cabinets were installed a local supplier fit new custom quartz countertops and a bar sink. The old bar top had worn through in places and it was replaced too. The trim is now in place and soon fresh paint colours will be applied, new brighter lighting put in, and we will have a grand brand new look.
