Elusive Sails Into Winner Spot at Annual Isthmus Bay Sailboat Races

The annual Isthmus Bay Sailboat races were held on the first weekend of June 2025. Locally owned sailboat, Elusive emerged as the overall winner of the two-day event. Tim Matheson, Captain of Elusive says “All three races were well attended, with the sailors managing variable wind conditions and cold water.” He thanked Race committee members Jordan and Kayla of the sailboat Tryst for organizing the event.

39th Annual Georgian Bay Regatta comes to Lion’s Head August 1st

Sailboat enthusiasts get another chance to see sailboats in August. Participants competing in the 39th Annual Georgian Bay Regatta sail into Isthmus Bay on the Friday night of the Civic Holiday weekend. The fleet will overnight at the Lion’s Head Marina, before sailing on their final leg of the Regatta: Lion’s Head to Hope Bay. The regatta starts on July 31 in Meaford, heading to White Cloud Island. On August 1, on to Lion’s Head; and ends in Hope Bay on August 2, 2025.
