Colder temperatures and light rain did not dampen the mood of market patrons, as the community came out on 17 May 2025 for the first day of the Lion’s Head Farmers’ Market. The Market will showcase over 38 full-time and occasional vendors and a wide range of local produce and local artisanal products.

The Market has been described by many patrons as a gem of the Peninsula. It serves as a central meeting spot and marketplace where residents, cottagers and visitors can stock up on food and artisanal products.

Food items such as fresh baked bread, fruits, vegetables, lamb products, handmade chocolates, craft beer, maple syrup products, BBQ sauces, preserves, honey and baked goods are available.

Specialty treat-yourself items such as locally made soaps, products made from alpaca wool such as socks, candles, lavender products and tie-dye items are always popular.

Seeds, flowers, plants, local artwork and other garden and home decor items are also available.

The very popular food booth with Chef Rob and family serving up freshly grilled gourmet sandwiches is back for the 2025 season and is a crowd pleaser for breakfast or brunch. Many patrons make it a Saturday ritual to come down specially for a sandwich.

Every Saturday morning during Market opening hours, a group of local musicians perform songs ranging from country, pop, jazz, classical and original compositions. The popular “Market Band” is another draw for market goers; after their shopping adventure, many patrons stay to listen to the music.

The “Outdoor Canadiana Muskoka Lounge” with its red Muskoka chairs is also back. Introduced in 2022, it has proved to be popular with Market goers as a place to relax, to listen to music and to socialize. This year the “lounge’ is sponsored by the Lion’s Head Beach Motel.

The Market will be open every Saturday from Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving weekend. The Market runs from 9 a.m. until noon; open until 1 p.m. on long weekends. The Market is located at “the beach” in and next to the beach pavilion in Lion’s Head.
