A reminder to all that Decoration day will be held June 8th at Dunk’s Bay at 10:30 a.m.
Before the results of our legion elections a little news: The legion was happy to make a sizeable donation to Camp Huronia for children with diabetes. This is the work the branch is happy to do on an ongoing basis. Remember, if your organization is of a charitable nature don’t hesitate to put a request in writing to the branch.
A big shout out to Dan Mackey who came 8th in the entire province for Senior Darts. Well done Dan!
If you have a child attending higher education and they have a relative who is a legion member, they may be eligible to apply for a bursary. Check out the legion website for details.
Our legion meeting times will change after the summer break. Executive at 7 p.m. and general at 8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month.
Leaf Fans! Play-off games will be aired at the branch on our big screen TVs when the branch is open, so bring some friends, sit back have a bubbly and enjoy the game. Kandace may even make you some popcorn!
The branch would like to give a huge shout out to Kristen Buckley and the Crowsnest who donates the meat for our barbecues after our meat draws in the summer! Remember the meat draw is every Saturday, rain or shine, so stay and have your dinner there as well!
The branch will be starting with our summer dances and we are in need of floor help. We have over 260 members so I think we can find a few to take a turn as we really need the help!
There will be a motorcycle Poker Run on August 16th, starting at The Hungry Hiker parking lot in Tobermory. All you biker enthusiasts are welcome.
