June 1st at Lion’s Head Arena

Who’s turning 30? Bruce Peninsula Hospice (BPH) – local people helping local people – marks its 30th anniversary with our annual Hike for Hospice Fundraiser on Sunday, June 1st.
This year we meet at the Lion’s Head Arena at 1:00 p.m. A number of exciting hikes await. For instance, consider a 1.6 km Bruce Trail hike led by Volunteer Bob Cunningham, from the arena to Donna Baker’s Bench, or join former BPH Volunteer Helen Westover for a 2 km historic village walk. This gentle hike will be a great chance to learn some of Lion’s Head history!
To get started, go to our website: bphospice.ca. Click – Hike for Hospice. Create a team of your own or join an existing one. Reach out to friends or family to support you or simply make a donation.
Each year we are encouraged and so very grateful for the efforts of our volunteers, and the generosity of community and the support of our sponsors: Bruce Power, Middlebro’ & Stevens LLP Wiarton, Ebel Quarries Inc./Polycor Ontario, and McKenzie’s IDA Pharmacy. Our valued sponsors have more than eased the way out of the starting gate with their kind support!
Demand for caregiver respite, compassionate in-home hospice care, and grief support continues. We seek funding, sponsorships and more volunteers to connect with those in need, and to help enhance life for those experiencing serious illness or grief. Our $35,000.00 fundraising goal cannot be achieved without your support!
Who can resist embracing spring by stepping outside? A friend and seasoned Bruce Trail hiker says, “Every time I hike, I feel like I’ve had a facial!” Rain or shine, come meet friends new and old; feel the elements whisper their song. Join the dance of people helpers, just for the afternoon in June.
