(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking witnesses to a vessel that sunk off Government Dock Road in Northern Bruce Peninsula.
On September 5, 2024, at 10:16 a.m., the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of a fishing boat that sunk off Government Dock Road in Northern Bruce Peninsula. With the assistance of the Coast Guard and the Ministry of Natural Resources all environmental contaminants were contained. The vessel was last observed floating in the dock on September 4, 2024, at 7:30 a.m.
The Grey Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.
PERSONS AND VEHICLE TO IDENTIFY
(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking assistance in identifying two individuals and a vehicle.
On September 20, 2024, the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an assault on Kemble Rock Road in Georgian Bluffs. The victim confronted two individuals who were taking items from the property and an altercation ensued.
The individuals are described as:
• Male – approximately 5’ 10” tall, 275lbs, white, short black hair, 20-30 years old, wearing shorts and no shirt.
• Female – wearing a white hoody, small in stature, blonde hair and believed to be in her mid 20’s.
Police obtained video surveillance of the incident. The Grey Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122. FAIL TO STOP LEADS TO CRIMINAL CHARGES
(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One individual is facing charges after the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for travelling greater than the posted 80km/hr speed limit.
On September 14, 2024, at 9:12 a.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were conducting traffic enforcement utilizing the LIDAR on Highway 6 at Mar in South Bruce Peninsula. The officer observed a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed and locked it in at 133 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone. The officer activated their emergency lights, and the motorcycle took off at a high rate of speed. Further north there was a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program at which time the driver was stopped, identified and arrested.
A 34-years-old from Guelph was charged with:
-Flight from peace officer
-Dangerous operation
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 3, 2024.
The accused’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the motorcycle was impounded for 14 days.
