The Artisan Studio Tour keeps growing. This year there are even more studios to visit and more artists; with 35 returning artists and 11 new artists participating this year.

The Studio Tour hosted by the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists will be held on August 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m each day. The Tour is free, offering patrons an opportunity to meet with artists, visit their studios and watch demonstrations.

The myriad of artistic talent on the Northern Bruce Peninsula will be on full display during the Studio Tour. Some of the many art forms to be showcased are watercolours, oil and acrylic paintings, photographs, handcrafted canoe paddles, metal, wire and stone creations, wood turning, wood sculptures, fibre art, clay art, jewelry, hand woven/knit/dyed textile products, kiln-fired glass and pottery.

The Studio Tour will take you throughout the Northern Bruce Peninsula, along the highway and scenic country roads. However, organizer Charlene Jordan says that the majority of the studios are located near to four main hubs: Tobermory area, Cape Chin/Dyers Bay, Lion’s Head /Ferndale/Lakewood and North Wiarton/Oliphant area.

Additionally there are new dining options along the Tour route and new accommodation options for those looking for overnight stays.

To assist attendees in planning their visits, everyone is invited to pick up a brochure at either the Lion’s Head Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings, Info centres in Ferndale or Tobermory and at the Red Schoolhouse Gallery in Ferndale. A digital version of the brochure is available online at https://brucepeninsulaart.ca/studio-tour/

New this year, there will be a QR code linked to the brochure available on all Studio Tour sponsors’ signage during the two-day event. Look for the bright yellow Studio Tour signs posted throughout the areas to guide you to each artisan’s studio.
