The Lion’s Head Homecoming Weekend Street dance is an important fundraiser for the Bruce Peninsula Family Centre daycare and initial estimates are that approx $8,000 was raised for the Lion’s Head childcare centre.
On the evening of August 3, 2023, the street dance venue along Main Street was packed with party goers as they enjoyed the music of Adam Hellyer and Midnight Blue. About 630 people turned out to enjoy the summer night’s street party atmosphere and great music. While numbers were down from last year; 2023 being a record breaking year in terms of attendees and funds raised, the Board of Directors are happy with the outcome of this years’ event.
The Bruce Peninsula Family Centre Board wishes to thank the musicians Adam Hellyer and Midnight Blue, Mary Hewton of the Booth who provided the food, and they extended special thanks to the community and volunteers. Kathryn Vogan of the Bruce Peninsula Family Centre states that the community “always surpasses my expectations on support throughout the year (not just this specific event)” and about the volunteers “without them we would not be able to put the event on.”
