The Peninsula Bruce Trail Club (PBTC) is one of nine Bruce Trail Conservancy Clubs – a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization which enlists volunteers who promote conservation efforts along the Niagara Escarpment and maintain a public footpath within that corridor from Wiarton to Tobermory.
PBTC volunteers organize trail maintenance and trail development work parties, steward over 50 BTC nature reserves, lead a wide diversity of Bruce Trail hikes and work collaboratively with other organizations on the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula to protect nature while encouraging responsible trail use.
October 4 & 5, PBTC is hosting a two-day Peninsula Hiking Festival. The Festival Hub will be at Camp Celtic. It’s an opportunity to celebrate and learn about the unique ecological and cultural aspects of the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula. All hikes are facilitated by subject experts and there will be many opportunities to engage with old friends and make some new ones too.
The Bruce Trail Conservancy’s mission is to create a ribbon of wilderness for everyone, forever. This includes making the Peninsula Hiking Festival more accessible.
Thanks to a $4,500 grant from Bruce Power’s Environment and Sustainability Fund, the Festival Committee has been able to create an excellent Festival program while keeping our general ticket price affordable.
We have discounted tickets for Saugeen Ojibway Nation members and post-secondary students. Learn more about the festival here: https://pbtc.ca/2024-peninsula-hiking-festival/. If you still have questions about the discounted tickets, email: pbtchikefestival@gmail.com
