The Lion’s Head Pickleball Club hosted their 1st Annual Spring Pickleball Tournament on June 1 and 2. Players travelled from all over the area to compete including from Brantford, Meaford, Owen Sound, Sauble Beach, Tobermory, Georgian Bluffs, South Bruce Peninsula and Lion’s Head.
The tournament raised over $3,300 to be split between the Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation and the Lion’s Head Food Bank.
The club is most grateful to the following businesses who supported the tournament through generous donations and door prizes: Rachel’s Restaurant, The Shops at 84 Main, Wilson Home Building Centre, Barbara Dirckx REMAX Real Estate, Garden in Thyme, Peninsula Pet Supplies, TruFood Cafe, Peninsula Physiotherapy, Scott’s Home Hardware, The Paris Beer Company, and The Hungry Hiker. The club would also like to thank the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula for their support as well as the staff at the Community Centre.
The competition was fierce but friendly with the following results:
Congratulations to Pam Crawford and Sue Hopkins-Woods for securing the first place in the Women’s Division! And well done to Dana Landsborough and Wendy Hamilton for taking the second spot, followed by Lori Shepley and Louise Johnstone in third place.
