Happy 2024 from the SWANS
SERVICE – WE ASSIST, NURTURE, SUPPORT
Submitted by Bonnie Warder
It’s hard to believe but we are halfway into January already!
To update you from the final activities of December, the Christmas Bazaar was a success and we want to say a “huge” thanks to everyone that supported this event. Also, thanks to the members that made it happen!
The group held our Christmas “get-together” in December and from all reports, everyone enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and fellowship.
The members can bring a donation for the Women’s Shelter to this event and Treasurer Bev Miller delivered the items, along with a cheque of $1,134 which represents the SWANS’ annual financial donation and the proceeds raised from the Silent Auction at the Christmas Bazaar. Another thank you to the community support for this very important service.
The 1st regular meeting for the year was held on January 3rd at the Swan Lake Legion. We enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the Legion Ladies, followed by discussions for 2024 events.
Member Jane Clayton received recognition from the SWANS Ontario President for her contributions over the past year. Jane is our representative for District 9 at the Provincial level and our local membership wants to recognize her commitment to our service group and the Provincial Board.
We have an Executive Meeting scheduled for January 25th to finalize some details for 2024.
On behalf of our group, we wish everyone a Happy and Healthy year and thank you for your continued support.
SWANS also accepts new members and if you have an interest in checking out our group, please give Roberta Mielhausen a call/text at 519-374-4110.
