Christmas has come to the Lion’s Head & District Food Bank in the form of certified, locally grown angus beef!

EPH Tools and TLMH Riverside Farms at 3712 Hwy 6 Lion’s Head have very generously donated 425 pounds of angus roasts.

Riverside beef can be purchased at TruFood Cafe (3766 Hwy 6 Lion’s Head) or by ordering online on the TLMH Riverside Farms website (www.tlmhriversidefarms.com)

This beef is a real luxury for our food bank to be distributing and it will be appreciated and enjoyed so much by our clients!

Unifor Local 2458 and Christmas Market Food Drive Benefit Lion’s Head & District Food Bank

The Lion’s Head Farmers’ Market Christmas Market held at Summer House Park on November 25th and 26th supported the local Food Bank by asking all patrons to donate non-perishable food items as their cost of admission to the event. The vendors also contributed to this food collection resulting in a whopping 894 pounds of donated food items! This is almost 2 1/2 times more than 2022!

This was an amazing bonus for our food bank as we weren’t able to do our annual Christmas Pack the Cruiser event.  There was considerable variety in items donated but the majority were items frequently used to pack our monthly hampers.

Special thanks to Charlene Jordan for the stellar job she did in organizing this event for the Food Bank.

Unifor Local 2458 Donation

Unifor Local 2458 (see photo below) recently sent a donation of $1,500.00 to The Lion’s Head & District Food Bank. Unifor represents all non-management employees at The Golden Dawn Nursing Home in Lion’s Head.

This very generous donation was twice as much as the amount sent last year!
