NURTURE, SUPPORT

Our regular September meeting was held on the 6th with close to full membership in attendance. This is a good sign that the SWANS are ready to fundraise for the many worthy causes in the community!

President Cathy McLay welcomed us back and presented a review of the activities from the summer months and the upcoming events for the fall.

The Club has one catering opportunity in September and we look forward to it. Many of our members have successfully completed the Food Handlers Course and more plan to take the course when time permits. Preparation of the food for any of our catering adheres to the guidelines as set out in the Canadian Food Safety Training. Thanks to the membership for this commitment.

Congrats to Wendell Thomson for his very successful Walk that has surpassed his goal of raising $20,000 for the Lion’s Head Hospital. Way to go Wendell!

Upcoming events for the fall include our semi-annual roadside cleanup and the annual Laugh and Learn conference being held in London this Year.

Our agenda also included planning for the Christmas Bazaar and the Santa Claus Parade. It’s hard to believe with the nice fall weather but… it’s not that far away.

As always, our club welcomes new members, so if you have an interest, please contact Roberta Mielhausen at 519-374-4110 by text or call.
