As the summer rolls along with the rapid pace that is summer in Tobermory, we hope you have taken the time to come in and check out the branch to see what is happening lately. We have just re-covered the pool table with fresh cloth that fixes the issues we had with it in the spring.
As of this writing, there is the beginnings of a new work project initiated by the municipality on the grounds of the cenotaph to refresh it, and keep it looking beautiful. You will see workers digging up plants, planting new ones and doing the much needed work on the grounds. If you would like the details of the plan, feel free to email branch290pres@gmail.com as he has been in conversation with the municipality and can forward them on to you. They have also been sent in our members email, and if you did not receive an email from us, please let us know so that we can add you to the email list!
If you are looking for something a little different, please come out to the branch for Brews and Hymns on August 9th at 7pm which should be a fun way to celebrate our comradeship over song and tea, coffee, or a cold beer!
Darts for fun on Thursdays at 7pm, bring your own darts or use ones at the branch. Come on out and have some fun!
Saturday Meat draws are ongoing throughout the summer and are a great way to meet up with friends, and if you’re lucky, win dinner for two that night! Meat draw starts at 4:30pm every Saturday afternoon.
Also a reminder that Bingo is now in full swing on Wednesday evenings at the Tobermory Community Centre put on by the Ladies Auxiliary. Doors open at 6:30pm and Bingo starts at 7:15, come on out and try your luck!
The next Saturday night dance is going to be on August 12th with DJ Maxx. As always this is a 19+ event. No I.D., no entry! There is a cover charge of $5 for entry for members and $10 for non-members. Please bring your valid membership card with you to pay $5. We hope to see you all there for a night of dancing and fun!
