Peninsula Swans held their regular October meeting at the Swan Lake Legion and enjoyed a delicious dinner provided by the Legion Ladies. The room was filled with positive energy and optimism as the group discussed our recent activities and future events. It feels great to be able to get back into the Community!
Our agenda was full but one of the highlights was the Induction Ceremony performed by Cathy McLay, welcoming two new members, Charlene McKenzie Scharlach and Pauline Flick, as shown in the photo, along with their sponsor and current President, Jane Clayton.
Other items discussed were the Roadside Cleanup on October 20th, weather permitting for the section of Highway 6 that is our responsibility. Swans also support the Legion Poppy Foundation and have purchased a wreath for Remembrance Day.
Members Lindsay and Katie are arranging the Curling Bonspiel for November 26th and Tamara will head up the lunch detail. Our Club is excited for the return of this fundraising event.
Christmas is always a busy time for the Swans and we will be holding our Bake Sale and Bazaar on December 3rd at the Friendship Club in Lion’s Head. Please stop by and check it out!
The end of 2022 is quickly approaching but our Organization has started to look to the new year with great anticipation of many opportunities for fundraising and serving our Community.
