The Lion’s Head Hospital Auxiliary has teamed up with the Kidney Foundation to raise money to further support health care in our area. It’s a simple plan, one that everyone can participate in. So, grab a garbage bag and let’s get started.
Go to your closet, storage area and old trunks. Look carefully and select all those items that you really don’t need or will never wear again. We take clothing, outer wear, hats, mitts, belts, shoes, purses, boots, bags, back packs. Oh come on now, those jeans you have been saving until you loose those 10 extra pounds, “give it up sister it ain’t going to happen”, put them in the bag. Have you cleaned out your linen closet yet? We take bedding, drapery, table cloths etc. You are going to feel so much better when your purging is done.
So what happens to all that is collected? The Kidney Foundation pays the Auxiliary per pound, they take everything to their sorting station in Mississauga. Items that can be resold go to their various stores, other things are distributed to the needy and finally some items are shipped overseas to countries in need. Nothing goes to waste!
So let’s get started filling those garbage bags. Drop off all donations Saturday, October 15 between 9-3 pm at Unit 17 (a storage locker), 22 Hayes Drive, Lion’s Head.
Now remember we get paid by the pound so absolutely everything counts, even those sparkly shoes you tried to “Twist in Last Summer”.
Dig deep and we will see you October 15!
