On the afternoon of July 31, the Lion’s Head Beach was busy with creative and industrious sand sculptors. There were a total of 33 entries in 2 categories: Kids unassisted under 14 years and Families.
Sponsors Marydale Ashcroft and Sarah Perrault of The Shops at 84 Main and Tim Hayes of the Community Bottle Drive greeted the participants and handed out candy, buckets, shovels, bubbles and wands to all entrants. They say “everyone is a winner”.
1st place in the Family category – Leonard, Tamara and Asher and family posing with their Hippo family sand sculpture.Victoria Visser and Juliet Filipuzzi won 1st place for their sand sculpture of a teddy bear in the Kids under 14 category.
