Thank you so much to everyone in the community for their very generous support towards Rotary’s scholarships program over the past several weeks! Over $3,100 in donations have been received for this important cause! Of this total, $2,500 will cover commitments for three scholarships to be awarded in June 2022 – the Highest Academic Proficiency Scholarship ($1,000), ‘Service Above Self’ Scholarship ($1,000), and the Mary Cameron Award for ‘Most Improved Student’ ($500). The remainder of donations received will be divided evenly between the two trust funds for the Keith Hopkinson Memorial Scholarship ($1,000), and the J.C. Buckley Memorial Scholarship ($1,000) which are also awarded annually. Supplements to these trust funds will help to extend the life of these memorial scholarships, so these may continue to be awarded in future years.
All Rotarians are deeply appreciative and thankful for the overwhelming financial support our community has provided in support of Rotary scholarships for graduates of Bruce Peninsula District High School to pursue their post-secondary studies!
