I want to draw everyone’s attention to the attached notice from the Peninsula Family Health Team (see page 30). While it appears that most cases of Covid 19 arising in people who have been immunized are relatively mild, those with compromised immune systems or other health problems remain at serious risk.
It appears now that we are all expected to attend to our own protection and I would urge you to do so. The simple measures are still important, so when indoors and in conditions where there is a great deal of hot air being expelled due to exuberance at our newfound freedoms or cheering on our favourite team, the mask you wear still protects you and those around you.
As noted in the PFHT notice we have achieved remarkably good levels of immunization but if you are one of those who qualifies for the fourth booster dose please avail yourself of that additional protection. If you have not yet completed a full course of the standard immunization I would urge you to contact the clinic and maximize your protection now.

Lead Physician at the Family Health Team, Dr Elaine Blau, offers the following additional comment:
“We appreciate and have great faith in the community spirit and pride on the North Bruce Peninsula. Let’s continue to protect and care for each other as we have done throughout the pandemic to date. COVID19 is not done with us yet but we will get through this together.”
