On Saturday December 4th the OPP Auxiliary officers were once again collecting donated goods and money for The Lion’s Head & District Food Bank.

The cruiser was parked outside at Hellyer’s Foodland in Lion’s Head where officers collected 1,324 pounds of food and $238.65 in cash donations! This is a wonderful boost to the food bank stock!

Special thanks to the Auxiliary officers volunteering their time for the day, as well as helping food bank volunteers unpack the cruiser.

Thank you also to the staff at Hellyer’s that packaged food in bags, in advance, to make purchasing food items so much easier. Bags were packed with frequently used items requested by food bank volunteers. Well done everyone!

Local Businesses Donate to Food Bank

Sandra Wilson of Wilson Building Centre and Terry Harnden of Homegrown Woodworks have very graciously donated another $500.00 each to The Lion’s Head & District Food Bank. This is their second donation for 2021. A big shout out to these two businesses!

The Food Bank appreciates every donation made in order to help us meet our objective to relieve poverty by operating a food bank for the poor or those that are lacking the essential amenities available to the general public.

Bruce Power Supports Bruce, Grey and Huron Counties

Bruce Power recognizes that the current year has been difficult to navigate for many residents of Bruce, Grey and Huron County. In an effort to help those in difficult financial situations, they donated $2,000.00 in Sobey’s gift cards to the local food banks. These gift cards will be dispersed to families in the greatest need in our area.

Accompanying the donation were wishes from Bruce Power management for everyone to experience a happy holiday season.
