The NP CoWork Lion’s Head and NP CoWork Tobermory are officially open. Billed as “a space to work alongside others”, anyone looking for a space to work, access the internet, hold meetings or enjoy some social time with others are invited to come by and use the space(s).
NP CoWork is open in Tobermory at The Meeting Place, 20 Centennial Drive, on Thursdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Lion’s Head site at the Rotary Hall, 59 Main Street, operates Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Amenities Offered By NP CoWork
The Lion’s Head and Tobermory locations offer free wifi, desk space and fresh Ironwood coffee. NP CoWork Lion’s Head at the Rotary Hall has a balcony for private work space and a stage with a professional sound system for meetings and events. NP CoWork Tobermory at The Meeting Place offers a board room and a private office, art/photography printing, and use of the community gym. NP CoWork members will have access to both spaces and everyone can benefit from collaborative programming offered in both communities. Donations are gladly accepted with a suggestion of $5 for a day of using the space. High School, College and University students who are completing their courses on-line and who may wish to get out of their homes or require social interaction are invited to use the NP CoWork space free of charge.

Persons using the space are asked to bring a mask, photo identification and proof of vaccination or letter of exemption. They are also advised to bring their own coffee/tea mug.
Everyone using the space will be asked to self screen at the entrance. Persons feeling unwell for any reason or have been around other people who may be sick or had an exposure to COVID-19 are requested to stay home. NP CoWork states “We will continue to practice good public health recommendations around physical spacing, cleaning/sanitizing, minimizing points of contact, and use of masks – we’re using all the tools in our health protection toolbox to help keep each other as safe as possible.”
Two New NP CoWork Managers
Megan Franken (NPCoWork@LH) and Karla Trudgen (NPCoWork@TMP) are the Managers for Lion’s Head and Tobermory respectively. They are in charge of scheduling and other administrative functions.
Volunteer Animators On Hand To Assist
On entering the space CoWorkers will be welcomed by a volunteer animator on each visit. The animators will ensure that the Coworkers are aware of the requirements to use the space and able to properly access the facilities and services such as wifi and printing services.
