The Lion’s Head Skating Club had a great first couple weeks of skating. It was a busy 2 weeks trying to get all our skaters registered, vaccinations checked and everyone on the ice, but we did it and we thank our parents/guardians and spectators for their positive support as the only thing that really matters is getting the kids on the ice!
We have our CANskate; Learn to Skate program running on Tuesday nights 5-5:50pm. Our skaters are working hard and having fun learning skills like moving forwards/backwards, stopping, and getting up after falling. We couldn’t run CANskate if it wasn’t for our volunteers helping with the kids and we love seeing all the parents, grandparents and friends coming out to watch them!
Our Pre-Star and Star Programs are running Tuesdays and Thursdays. Skaters also have time on Wednesdays to work on their skating skills. This week we had our Private Lesson Coach; Kris Dawson from Shallow Lake here working through dances, jumps and spins. Coach Cindy also had skaters using our harness system. The harness will be in operation every other Thursday on the same night we have private lessons running. Our club has also recently welcomed Anna to our club who is running off-ice training with our Pre-Star and Star groups. We have lots of new off-ice equipment arriving.
As always we send out a big thank you to Mary in the booth for the awesome food and snacks! Thank you also to our MNBP Arena staff!
