Local Restaurant Owners Donating 100% of Smile Cookie Proceeds to Local Healthcare

Tim Hortons Smile Cookie is back! Restaurant owners and millions of generous Canadians across the country can come together again to raise money for local charities across the country.

This year in Wiarton & Hepworth, local Tim Hortons restaurant owners Jim, Jordie and Michelle Preston, along with their amazing staff and guests will help raise money to support Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation. The Wiarton and Hepworth Tim Hortons have made such a positive and lasting impact on local health care through this national fundraising campaign. To date $46,000 has been donated for priority hospital needs on the Bruce Peninsula through the Smile Cookie Campaign.

Tim Hortons restaurant owners across Canada will be donating 100% of proceeds from sales of Smile Cookies to their local charity partners from September 13th-19th. The Wiarton and Hepworth Tim Hortons have made such a positive and lasting impact on local health care through this national fundraising campaign. This sweet fundraiser is enthusiastically embraced by our communities and proves to raise more funds and awareness for Bruce Peninsula patient care year over year. This year, Smile Cookie will assist in funding new x-ray machines ($1,020,000) for both the Wiarton and Lion’s Head Hospitals.

“We encourage everyone to share their Smile Cookie selfies on their social media to help spread the word about this wonderful fundraiser for health care on the Peninsula.’’ said April Patry, Executive Director, BPH Foundation.

About Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation

Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation strives to provide opportunities for the community to engage in philanthropic activities which support outstanding health care. To meet the health care needs of the people of the Bruce Peninsula, Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation supports capital priority needs of Grey Bruce Health Services for Lions Head Hospital, Wiarton Hospital and the regional needs of GBHS.

With the government only providing up to 10% of the required funding to keep our hospitals up-to-date with medical equipment, technology and facility upgrades, the balance must be raised by the communities whom our healthcare system serves.
