FHT vaccinates 83% of Residents
The Peninsula Family Health Team (FHT) is very pleased to announce that 83% of residents of Northern Bruce Peninsula have received their first COVID-19 vaccination at their vaccine clinics in Lion’s Head and Tobermory. The percent of residents vaccinated in Northern Bruce is actually higher since some residents received their shots at other vaccine clinics in Grey Bruce or elsewhere. Pamela Loughlean, Executive Director, Peninsula FHT says “Well done everyone!”
Youth vaccine clinics this week
During the week of June 14, the Lion’s Head and Tobermory clinic sites will be offering the Pfizer vaccine to youth between the ages of 12 to 18. If you wish to make an appointment for someone in this age group for their first dose, please call the FHT at 519-793-3445 or 519-596-2305.
2nd Dose Vaccine clinics start after Canada Day
The Family Health Team will be commencing the second round of COVID vaccinations after July 1st. They are working closely with Public Health to secure the necessary doses.
The FHT says there is no need to call the clinic to inquire about an appointment for your second vaccine. If you received your first shot through the Peninsula Family Health Team, you can expect a call from the clinic staff to book an appointment when they have the vaccination dates confirmed.
Vaccines available through Regional Hubs
Second dose vaccinations are also available to be booked at any of the regional hubs in Owen Sound, Kincardine or Hanover. Residents who wish to obtain their second vaccination at a regional hub should call 1-888-999-6488 or access the booking system online at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine/
