March 5, 2021 – BPHS Foundation is thrilled to announce that Gail MacDonald of Colpoy’s Village is this year’s Hooked on Health Grand Prize winner of $1,500.00!
Gail was sitting in her driveway, soaking up some sun, when she got the call, and gave such a hoot when she learned of her winnings, the whole village must of heard her. Gail is sharing some of her winnings with her children and putting most of it toward a trip to Australia (when possible) to see her daughter and grandchildren.
Wanda Hepburn of South Bruce Peninsula is the lucky 2nd prize winner of $1,000. 00.
Betty Robinson of Georgian Bluffs won the 3rd prize of $800.00, Peter Leaver of Point Edward (and with family ties to North Bruce Peninsula) won the 4th prize of an ipad, generously provided by Bruce Power. 5th prize winner is Shirley Mae Weir of Georgian Bluffs.
Thanks to these long time ticket buyers, and to everyone who participated, especially the many who graciously made a donation in lieu of their usual ticket purchase after the lottery sold out. This year’s Hooked on Health Lottery raised a record breaking $22,000.00, which completed BPHSF’s drive to raise the $138,000.00 required for the fleet of new defibrillators and transport monitors for Bruce Peninsula Hospitals.
A special thank you to the South Bruce Peninsula Family Physicians and the Peninsula Family Health Team in Lion’s Head for generously providing the cash prizes for Hooked on Health. The care that our doctors provide to our community reaches far beyond the hospital corridors and exam rooms.
