Lion’s Head, Ontario May 9th, 2020 – As the Victoria Holiday comes closer, the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula understands that there are questions surrounding the upcoming 2020 cottage season. On March 23rd, 2020 the Municipality made the hard choice to ask tourists to end their excursions early and return to their homes. Northern Bruce Peninsula is proud to communicate that we have had zero cases of COVID-19 to date. (Editor’s Note: The first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Northern Bruce Peninsula was announced May 10/20.)

We are continuing to request that should cottagers require to travel to Northern Bruce Peninsula please respect and follow all Federal, Provincial and County guidelines. We ask that you come prepared to remain at your cottage however if you are required to go out please practice social distancing and wear a face mask.

We understand that the schedule for reopening the province changes on a regular basis. Please visit the Municipal website to view regular updates. Some of our businesses do remain open for curb side pick-up. We ask that you contact these local establishments for hours and services available.

“We know everyone is anxious regarding the upcoming weekend,” stated Mayor Milt McIver. “We want everyone to enjoy the long weekend while respecting Federal, Provincial and County health measures. We all must do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
