The Summer House Park team was busy this fall as they prepared the fourth annual Haunted House Fundraiser in Miller Lake. The creative team at Summer House scares up a new theme each year, and this year, guests in the haunted house walked backstage through a haunted theatre for “A Night at the AHHHHscars!”

For a fourth year in a row, the Bruce Peninsula District School nutrition program was chosen as the recipient for donations earned from the haunted house. A dedicated group of students from BPDS volunteered their time, earning volunteer hours as they helped with the fundraising efforts. Special thanks goes to Chloe Mielhausen, Zach Rogers and an amazing group of students: Mackenzie Zevenbergen, Griffon Oak, Megan Nearingburg, Chloe Cameron, Sasha Cognigni, Jasmine Brough, Caileigh McNamera, Sam Fletcher, Will Guard and Vanessa Burling,  who were there to guide guests through the haunted house and offer a scare or two!

During the two weekends when the haunted house was in full-scare-mode, there were other events to enjoy while visiting Summer House Park, including self-guided Hallowe’en-themed hikes and activities in the campground. All events are always open to the public. This event runs two weekends each fall; the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, and on Thanksgiving weekend.

Many thanks you to those in the community who stopped by to brave the scares and support the event. Be sure to come next year…when the haunting will return to the woods of Miller Lake!
