All Aboard for the 2019 Sailing Season


Now that everything is ship shape aboard the Chi-Cheemaun we’re excited to throw open the hatches and have you all aboard!
The Owen Sound Transportation Company is excited to offer the passengers of the Chi-Cheemaun a wide variety of unique sailing experiences to choose from.
The 2019 Dinner Cruise & Concert Series includes, Ruben and the Dark – June 29th, Birds of Bellwoods – July 24th, Carmanah- August 15th and closing the concert series once again this year will the Owen Sound’s very own The Trevor MacKenzie Band- September 13th.
“A Month of Sundays” event series will once again be featured every Sunday during the month of July and will once again bring together Canadian musicians and authors for a collaborative afternoon on Georgian Bay. Craig Cardiff and author of the non-fiction novel Bad Singer, Tim Falconer will kick the series off July 7th. Children’s performer Jeremy Fisher along with children’s author Nicola Winstanley will perform July 14th. On July 21st the Chi-Cheemaun will host the Orchestra North Academy and author Antanas Sileika. Closing the series July 28th will be a strong female collaboration of Emm Gryner and Sonya Lalli author of The Matchmaker’s List. “A Month of Sundays” is free with ferry fares during the 11:20am departure from Tobermory and the 1:30pm departure from South Baymouth.
More event favourites will make their return as well this season; the 4th Annual Craft Brews Cruise will take place in the Fathom Five Lounge aboard the Chi-Cheemaun Saturday, June 22nd from 3:40pm – 7:20pm and the Stargazer’s Delight Tour will be offered during the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower August 10th – 13th during the 10:00pm sailing. Parks Canada interpreters will return once again this season enlightening passengers with the amazements of the Fathom Five National Marine Park every Friday during the Spring & Fall season and every Monday & Friday during the Summer Peak Season.
OSTC is happy to partner once again with the Wikwemikong Tourism in bring the Chi-Cheemaun passengers Cultural Interpretation programming every Wednesday during the summer.
It may be the 45th Annual Chi-Cheemaun Festival Weekend in Tobermory June 7 – 9 with many fun filled activities planned, but 2019 marks the 1st Chi-Cheemaun Festival Fireworks Cruise. OSTC has partnered with the festival committee in planning this year’s event. Join us aboard the MS Chi-Cheemaun for the 1st ever Chi-Cheemaun Festival Cruise. See the spectacular firework show from the best seats on Georgian Bay. Cruise includes, Live Entertainment, Buffet Meal & Silent Auction. Tickets are available for purchase by calling 1-800-265-3163.
