South Bruce Peninsula, ON — Get your tickets and get ready—because the Keeping Care Close 50/50 Lottery is back, and it’s your chance to win big while making a meaningful difference in local healthcare.

Following the tremendous success of last year’s lottery, which saw thousands of tickets sold and a massive $30,910 jackpot won by Kris Dawson of Hepworth, the excitement is building once again. Previous winners have taken home impressive prizes, including $35,670 claimed by Shelley Elliot of Sauble Beach in 2024, and Early Bird winners Terry and Mary Lynn Bernard of Pike Bay. Who will be this year’s BIG winner? It could be YOU.

Beyond the thrill of winning, every ticket purchased plays a vital role in strengthening care at Brightshores Wiarton and Lion’s Head Hospitals. Proceeds from last year’s lottery funded critical pharmaceutical equipment, directly enhancing patient care when it mattered most.

This year, funds raised through the Keeping Care Close 50/50 Lottery will support a major upgrade to the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD)—an essential service for patients requiring scope-based procedures at Brightshores Wiarton Hospital. This important investment will strengthen patient safety and infection prevention, improve access to endoscopy and diagnostic procedures, enhance workflow and efficiency for healthcare teams and support high-quality care for hundreds of patients each year.

“A modernized MDRD helps ensure the highest standards of safety, reliability, and quality,” says Jamie Nigh Milbrandt, Manager of Brightshores Wiarton and Lion’s Head Hospitals. “When reprocessing happens safely and efficiently, it strengthens every procedure and every patient experience. This upgrade is an investment in care for our entire community.”

Every Ticket Grows the Jackpot. The more tickets sold, the larger the prize—meaning every ticket purchased increases the jackpot while helping keep exceptional care close to home.

Get your tickets now to have a shot at winning the early Bird Draw of $2,500 on June 26, drawn live at 4pm on air during the Checkerboard Challenge Radiothon on CFOS 89.3 and The Bruce 91.9, broadcasting from downtown Wiarton and Lion’s Head. The final 50/50 jackpot will be drawn at 9:00 p.m. on August 1 during Wiarton Homecoming Weekend at Bluewater Park.
