Rotary held our fourth and final community Pancake Breakfast for the 2022 season on Sunday, September 4th at the Rotary Pavilion next to Lion’s Head Beach.  Thanks to everyone who turned out to support Rotary fundraising for the local community! Despite the cold and windy weather this Sunday morning, our final Pancake Breakfast of 2022 was a great success and we served close to 150 breakfasts over the course of the morning!

We also wish to express special thanks to our ‘Friends of Rotary’ who have generously volunteered their time to help out with each of these Pancake Breakfast events during this past season!  Whether it’s cooking eggs or pancakes, sausages or hash browns on our propane grills, or helping out on the line with serving breakfasts, these volunteers help tremendously by working with Rotarians to put on successful community breakfasts for holiday weekend Sundays between Victoria Day in May and Labour Day in September.  Many thanks for your essential help!

Rotary once again extends sincere thanks to our very generous corporate sponsors this year – Miners’ Maple Products (providing the maple syrup for the pancakes), Lion’s Head Beach Motel (providing the coffee), and Barbara Dirckx, RE/MAX Grey-Bruce Realty Inc. (covering the costs of placing advertisements for our breakfast events in Bruce Peninsula Press) – for their continuing support towards covering costs for our Rotary Pancake Breakfasts!  Our sponsors help tremendously by defraying the costs of putting on these breakfast events, allowing more fundraising dollars to be returned to the local community through a range of Rotary projects and initiatives.  If you as an individual or your company would be interested in becoming a sponsor for future pancake breakfast events, please contact any Rotarian and let us know!

In recent years, Rotary has tried to make our Pancake Breakfast events more ‘environmentally-friendly’ by switching to compostable/degradable dishes and cutlery, and we will continue to do so.  We thank those breakfast customers who have helped reduce the environmental impact of our breakfast events by bringing along their own dishes, cutlery and/or take-out containers to the breakfasts!  Bringing personal items like coffee cups, plates and/or your own cutlery to these events helps to make our community breakfasts more ‘environmentally-friendly’, and we encourage people to do this for future breakfast events next year!
