The Lion’s Head Friendship Club continues to be a wonderful place for seniors in our community to meet, enjoy games, share good food, and spend time with amazing friends.

September was another busy and enjoyable month for the club. On September 1, 35 members attended a games day, followed by a delicious turkey dinner with all the fixings.

On September 10, the club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was well attended.

September 15 was a special day as 49 members and friends enjoyed a River Cruise on the Grand River. The cruise was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, with fabulous food and entertainment making it a memorable outing.

On September 26, 64 people attended a roast beef dinner. Entertainment was provided by Brian Osborne and a friend, and their performance was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in attendance.

The Craft Day on September 30, hosted by Forty Hills Farm and Flowers, was sold out—another indication of the enthusiasm and support for the club’s activities.

October is shaping up to be another busy month. An All-Candidates Meeting will be held on October 8 and will include a light lunch. This is an opportunity to come out, meet the candidates in the upcoming municipal election, and ask questions about the issues that matter to you. The meeting is open to the public; there is a sign up sheet at the club.

The October calendar is full of activities:

• October 8 at 12:30 p.m. – Club lunch and All-Candidates Meeting

• October 14 at 12:30 p.m. – Craft Day and light lunch

• October 17 at 1:00 p.m. – Games Day and light lunch

• October 24 at 5:00 p.m. – Club dinner

The Friendship Club continues to provide enjoyable trips, games days, social gatherings, and good food for its members. We sincerely thank everyone who helps make these activities possible and for their continued efforts to provide friendship, fellowship, and fun for the seniors in our community.
