Grey Bruce OPP Seeking Witnesses Following Serious Cycling Accident In Georgian Bluffs

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – The Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious cycling accident that occurred on Grey Road 1 near the Regional Airport in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

On July 6, 2026, at approximately 11:36 a.m., members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to Grey Road 1 near the Regional Airport in the Township of Georgian Bluffs after Grey County Paramedic Services were dispatched for a report of an injured cyclist.

Upon arrival, emergency responders located a 62-year-old resident of Georgian Bluffs near a bicycle. The individual sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted by Ornge Air Ambulance to a trauma centre for further treatment.

Members of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene and are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Grey Road 1 was closed at Winter Street for several hours and reopened at approximately 3:08 a.m. on July 7, 2026.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the circumstances surrounding the accident are still being determined.
