The gas station at Ferndale has installed three temporary pumps while the existing pumps undergo renovations. They will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m daily.
There will be proper signage in place to ensure users can find their way to the temporary pumps, which can be accessed from Highway 6 and/or via two access points off Bruce Road 9. There will continue to be daily delivery of fuel by the supplier during this period.
The construction phase of the modernization of the gas station is scheduled to take about six to eight weeks, barring unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions and construction issues.
“There will be new signage but the service will be the same” says the property co-owner Phyllis Hayes; additionally “all staff will keep their jobs”.
The new signage will reflect the energy supplier Central Ontario FS and the gas station will be a FAST STOP station. The gas station will continue to offer their usual full-service to their customers.
The renovation project consists of five pumps being installed, with two of the pumps being self-serve. A brand new kiosk and a canopy over the pumps will also be built.
In the Spring of 2026, construction of a commercial building will commence. Currently the plans for the retail space includes a convenience store.
