All Things Are Connected!

Submitted by Peninsula Bruce Trail Club

Join the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club (PBTC) for an Outdoor Yoga and Mindfulness event on July 31st. Barbara von der Heide and Nina Andic, from Loving Yoga, are kindly donating their time and sharing their expertise with us at this event, taking place at Maple Cross Nature Reserve in Cape Chin.

What do Yoga, Mindfulness and Peninsula Bruce Trail Club have in common?

This event supports UNESCO’s sustainable development goals through the promotion of health and wellbeing, providing an opportunity to care for ourselves, connect with one another, and strengthen our connection to nature. Research shows that environmental health directly impacts general health.

Yoga helps us to connect with our inner self, improves flexibility and strength, while reducing stress and anxiety. Mindfulness helps to recognize what is happening in the moment – what we see, hear and feel – without making judgement about our observations. Building relationships with nature is a key indicator for holistic health. This is reflected in personal wellbeing, environmental health and a sustainable economy.

All things are connected!

The Niagara Escarpment is a designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. We have the responsibility to steward and protect the land and its culture, while maintaining a sustainable economy. As one of nine Bruce Trail Conservancy Clubs, PBTC is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that has a dual mandate – protecting a conservation corridor along the Niagara Escarpment and maintaining a public footpath within that corridor. We encourage people to engage with nature through activities such as hiking, bird watching or volunteering as land stewards, trail captains, or hike leaders.

You are invited to join us for this wonderful opportunity to care for yourself, as well as helping to care for the environment.

Pre-event registration is required. Payment is by free will donation (pay what you can) online when registering, or by cash onsite. Donations over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt from Bruce Trail Conservancy, if requested. All proceeds will directly support land stewardship for meadow restoration on Bruce Trail Conservancy Nature Reserves located here on the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula.
