Rotary Float in Lion’s Head Canada Day Parade

Your local Rotary Club entered a float in the Lion’s Head 2025 Canada Day Parade held Saturday evening, June 28th, which began at Bruce Peninsula District School and following the route down Helen Street, across Scott Street, and back up Main Street, before returning to the School on Moore Street. Thanks to our Rotary exchange student Matthew and BPDS student Stephy for participating in the Canada Day Parade and riding on the Rotary float, and thanks as well to Rotarian Jeff Labonte for towing our float with his 1947 Dodge pickup truck ‘Moonshine’!

Pancake Breakfast and 50/50 Fundraiser Draw

Our second community Pancake Breakfast of 2025 was a great success, with 227 breakfasts served (not including breakfasts for Rotarians, ‘Friends of Rotary’ volunteering, and small children), and wonderful weather at Rotary Pavilion next to Lion’s Head Beach on Sunday morning of the Canada Day weekend! The 50/50 Fundraiser Draw was held at 11 AM, and the lucky winner was Brad McMillan who won the cash prize of $2025! All 50/50 tickets had been sold by the time of the draw, and net proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards our Rotary scholarships program, in support of graduates of Bruce Peninsula District School who are pursuing post-secondary studies!

Once again, Rotary thanks everyone who came out for a delicious ‘Made in Canada’ Pancake Breakfast! We also thank our many ‘Friends of Rotary’ who helped out at this event with preparing food on our new grills and helping out on the serving line to serve breakfasts to hungry customers! And we thank our individual and business sponsors who generously donate product and money to defray Rotary’s costs of putting on these events, allowing us to return more of the proceeds back to the community of Northern Bruce Peninsula! Our third community Pancake Breakfast of 2025 will be held at Rotary Pavilion by Lion’s Head Beach on Sunday, August 3rd of the August Civic Holiday weekend from 9:00 to 11:30 AM … We hope to see you there!
