Our second scheduled Rotary community Pancake Breakfast of the 2025 season will be held on the Canada Day weekend, on Sunday, June 29th from 9:00 to 11:30 AM at the Rotary Pavilion next to Lion’s Head Beach. Rotarians and Friends of Rotary will be serving breakfasts which include pancakes with real maple syrup, scrambled eggs, pork sausages, hash browns, orange juice and coffee/tea.
Beginning with this Breakfast and going forward, we are using a ‘Made in Canada’ pancake mix (Cache Cuisine Buttermilk and Vanilla Pancake Mix). In fact our whole Rotary Pancake Breakfast is ‘Made in Canada’, with real maple syrup from Miners’ Maple Products in Kemble, as well as eggs, sausage, juice and hash browns from Canadian producers! So come join us for a ‘Made in Canada’ breakfast served to celebrate the Canada Day weekend!
The cost for our Pancake Breakfast remains $15.00 per adult, or $7.00 for children aged 12 and under. Rotary now accepts payment in the form of cash or debit/credit card (via Square card reader). We encourage you to bring your own plate and cutlery to help reduce waste from this breakfast event. In addition to table seating outside the Rotary Pavilion, there will be an option for breakfast pick-up for those wishing to take away their breakfast.
This will be the second of four community Pancake Breakfasts scheduled for the Sundays of each holiday weekend from May to September – come out for a delicious breakfast and support your local Rotary Club in its fundraising efforts for the community! We hope to see you there!
Rotary is thankful to and appreciative of our many ‘Friends of Rotary’ who help us put on our community Pancake Breakfast events, performing essential tasks including grilling food, serving food on the serving line, and washing up both during and after each breakfast event. If you would like to volunteer as a ‘Friend of Rotary’, please contact any Rotarian with our Club for further information! We also thank our very generous individual and business sponsors who continue to provide product or financial support to help defray the costs of putting on our Pancake Breakfasts, allowing Rotary to return more money from our fundraisers directly back to the community. Our 2025 Pancake Breakfast sponsors include Jane & Dr. Dave Thomson, Tiffany Embleton & Dan Jorritsma, Barbara Dirckx (RE/MAX Grey-Bruce Realty Inc.), Garden in Thyme Country Market, Russell and Abby Miners (Miners’ Maple Products) and Leroy Dirckx (Atlas World Real Estate Corp.). If you or your business may be interested in sponsoring our Pancake Breakfast events, please contact Rotarian Doug Embleton at (226) 923-1604.
50/50 Draw Fundraiser Tickets Available!
Our 50/50 Rotary Fundraiser is now underway with a chance to win a cash prize of up to $2025! Draw tickets can be purchased for $5.00 each from any local Rotarian or from several vendors in Lion’s Head including Scott’s Home Hardware, Leo’s Closet, The Shops at 84 Main, Rachel’s Restaurant, and Garden in Thyme Country Market. We encourage people to get their 50/50 draw tickets early as we have sold out of tickets in past fundraisers! The winning 50/50 ticket will be drawn at 11:00 AM on Sunday, June 29th at our summer Rotary Pancake Breakfast to be held at the Rotary Pavilion next to Lion’s Head Beach.
Net proceeds from this 50/50 Fundraiser Draw will go towards our Rotary Scholarships programme, in support of students graduating from Bruce Peninsula District School and going on to post-secondary studies. Rotary awards up to five scholarships each year valued at $1,500 each to support students pursue their post-secondary education plans at university, community college, or through a technical trades or apprenticeship program. Our Rotary Scholarships committee is currently reviewing student applications for this year’s competition, for scholarships which will be awarded at the coming BPDS graduation ceremony later in June.
Since 1972, your local Rotary Club has been awarding scholarships to local high school graduates of BPDS! Get your Rotary 50/50 Draw tickets early, support our Scholarships programme, and join us for the actual Draw to be made at our second community Pancake Breakfast of 2025!
