On 7 May 2025, the members of the Bruce Peninsula Environment Group (BPEG) met for a delightful potluck dinner, showcasing the culinary talents within the group.
The evening continued with a captivating presentation by local filmmakers Zack Melnick and Yvonne Drebert, who shared their work on Great Lakes ecosystem initiatives. They showed “behind the scenes’ stunning underwater footage from their recent documentary, “All Too Clear: Beneath the Surface of the Great Lakes”. They were able to capture amazing underwater photos using stateof the art remotely operated vehicle (ROV) Boxfish Luna which explored the depths up to 500 metres (1600 ft) below the surface.

Elections of Board members
Following the featured presentation, the formal business of the Annual General Meeting took place, including a review of BPEG’s activities over the past year, discussions about future directions, and board member elections.
The members of the Bruce Peninsula Environment Group (BPEG) reelected the following Board Members for 2025: Bridget Rosser, Heather Bryans, Chelsea Vieira, Elizabeth Sykes, Rod Layman and Joanne Rodgers.

The next BPEG meeting will take place on June 4, 7 p.m. at Anglican Church hall in Lion’s Head. Topic: Rewilding – Giving Nature a Second Chance. Authors Jane Drake and Ann Love will talk about their book and their research. Rewilding is an important environmental movement to restore habitats to their natural state in order to support native species and make room for animals to move freely.
