On behalf of the Tobermory Firefighters Association, I would like to thank everyone who joined us and helped to make this year’s Winter Carnival such a success!
A special thank you to the Tobermory Firefighters, Primary Place Daycare and Smokey Golden (and crew) for serving such delicious meals throughout the day. The proceeds from these meals goes back to local service groups and very important causes. Your support is appreciated.
We have a long list of wonderful supporters whose time and efforts make such a special addition to the day. Our outdoor events had no shortage of snow this year! The Tobermory Snowmobile Club offered snowmobile rides which are always a big hit. Peninsula Bruce Trail Club guided 15 snowshoers along the Burnt Point Loop. The Bruce County Library Tobermory Branch engaged kids of all ages with their Escape Boxes and Teresa from Cape Chin Bed and Breakfast Spa Services stayed busy all day providing mini manicures. Friends of the Tobermory Library had another successful used book sale again this year too. Dotsy the Clown’s magical face painting, creative balloon twisting and fun and funny afternoon show made the day a real hit with kids of all ages. Parks Canada opened their doors and offered a family movie and hot chocolate too.
There is a lot of time and energy put into the organization of this day, and we are proud to be able to continue to offer a fun filled family day to our community at little to no cost to people attending. The community attendance and smiles on the kids’ faces are what make it all worthwhile.
This day would absolutely not be possible without contributions from our Community Sponsors. It is because of them that we are able to keep this day full of free family fun. The Blue Heron Company, Blue Bay Motel Tobermory, Bruce Anchor Cruises, Kristin & Olivia Buckley, Crowsnest Pub, Escarpment Heights Motel, Justin Handley – Royal LePage Royal City Realty, Owen Sound Transportation Company, Peacocks Foodland, Tobermory Press Inc., Tobermory Princess Hotel, Reader’s Haven Book Store, Darlene James – REMAX , The Sweet Shop, TACOMORY, Tobermory Brewing Company & Grill and the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.
Thank you again for joining us and we hope to see you again next year! Save the date of Saturday February 15th, 2020.
As always we are open to ideas and suggestions on how we can improve. Feedback can be sent to us on our Facebook page or by emailing tobermorywintercarnival@yahoo.ca
