The Bruce Peninsula Environment Group (BPEG) will host its annual general meeting (AGM) on May 7, 6 p.m. at Christ Church Hall in Lion’s Head.

The evening begins with a pot luck supper, followed by film makers Zack Melnick and Yvonne Drebert, speaking on their continuing work on Great Lakes’ ecosystems and their recent documentary series “All Too Clear.”

The business meeting follows, with a brief review of BPEG’s work in the past year, future plans and board elections.

An Amazing Earth Day event at Lindsay Tract

By Heather Bryans

A large crew of volunteers from BPEG’s membership and the Rotary Club of Northern Bruce Peninsula put on a truly heartwarming Earth Day at Lindsay Tract Trails on April 19, 2025. The day unfolded beautifully, starting with a mindful intention-setting yoga session led by the Chantelle. Beige then filled the air with music during a delightful song circle. Creativity flowed freely during the arts and crafts session with Jenna and Madeline, while Katherine inspired green thumbs at the seed exchange. We even had the chance to learn the art of crafting birch bowls from Juanita.

Tyler’s insightful talk, “The Life of Forests and Trees,” deepened our appreciation for the natural world. A delicious chili lunch warmed us all, perfectly complemented by the amazing sweet treats generously provided by Garden in Thyme.

Participants gathered around a crackling fire for social time, and/or joined Tyler on a guided walk through the forest, identifying trees in their winter life, and talking about the forest community and its stresses from invasive species.
